In 2009, the eight Tulsa Police Equine Officers were all retired and were then put up for adoption. Two of those awesome horses were donated to Crossroads Ranch to use for our camps for kids. Those two were the police horses, Ned and Jack. This began our inspiration to help with horses that had no place to go, so 'Silver Spur Rescue Foundation' was formed.
Today, at Crossroads Ranch, we have 8 horses that have been rescued and brought in. Some of them can be used for our camps, but most are not sound, are blind, or would end up in the kill pen if they were not here at Crossroads Ranch.
Our biggest needs are always feed: hay, grain, salt blocks, occasional vet bills, and wormer. It's our heart's desire to treat every horse or animal with the utmost respect, and give them the best care that we possibly can. All of them will live their lives out here at Crossroads Ranch. Thank you for helping us take care of our four legged friends!
Silver Spur Rescue Foundation has eight horses right now. We have rehomed several and always keep that as an option. We appreciate all of you, our partners, that help us feed and take care of these horses and ponies. Come see us anytime and meet the horses in person!
Not only do we rescue horses and ponies, but SSRF also rescues dogs and any other kind of animal, as well.
Silver Spur Rescue Foundation was formed in 2017 and is in proper standing with the IRS. The EIN number is 82-1011699 and tax receipts are given.
